Christina Holzhauser grew up in Portland, Missouri, a town of eighty-five. At eighteen she sped away toward Houston, Texas, to earn a BS in anthropology, but more importantly to get out and see the world. Since then she’s worked as a pee collector at a nuclear plant, a histology technician, an archaeologist, an expert hiking-boot fitter, and a ranch hand in northern California. While living in a cabin with no running water in Fairbanks, Alaska, she earned her MFA in nonfiction. Christina now lives with her son in Columbia, Missouri. Her parents visit weekly and love being grandparents.
